My dream of a Camiguin Weekend!

I haven't blog seriously my entire life until I saw Airphil Express promo on my facebook newsfeed. Oh yes, I'm freakin' serious. I write just for the heck of it, nothing professional or something. I tried writing before to save up for my retirement but I just recently realized it would take me 60 years before I can take advantage of it so without hesitation I drop the idea. And here I am writing for a Camiguin weekend. Hoping that Airphil will take me to the streets of Camiguin dancing to the beat of Lanzones festival.

I grew up in the outskirts of Mindanao and traveled as far as Zamboanga, Davao and Lanao del Sur but I haven't been to Camiguin or experience Lanzones festival for that matter. For all the good reason fate always has its funny ways in cancelling all of my leisure plans for Camiguin.

And now that I have all the luxury of time on every perfect sunny weekend, I don't have any money to spend for it. I hope this time fate will do me a favor and help me answer this important question at the moment 'Why do you want to experience and join Lanzones Festival?' After few considerations my answer is nothing special, I want to prove myself the things I heard so much about the festival and Camiguin as a whole without spending too much. The things I heard before I hope it's the same thing they have until now. The sugary white-sand beaches, hot and cold springs, friendly and hospitable people and specially the parade of free lanzones itself are just a few that I am looking forward to.

For now I will just sit here sipping lemonade preparing my stuff for a Camiguin weekend. (me just wishful thinking Haha)

"Experience MassKara Festival, Hermosa Festival and Lanzones Festival this October. Airphil Express flies daily to BACOLOD, ZAMBOANGA and CAGAYAN DE ORO from Cebu and Manila. Visit www.airphilexpress.com to book!

Where in the world is CEB?

"Who the hell is CEB by the way?" My friend asked me out of sheer innocent stupidity. For almost 5 years of flying Cebu Pacific she don't have a single idea of where was who. And I thought I know the answer too. So we ended up reading the whole post and realized Cebu Pacific just recently baptized their mascot naming it 'Ceb'. And to spread the word they launch a promo "Where in the world is CEB?".

For details please don't ask me just stare and you will see!

Everything you need to know about Argao!

Oh and by the way just in case you do not know the former Chief Justice of the country grew up in Argao. And yes I am talking about Hilario Davide. Argao is a simple yet vibrant town located in southeastern part of Cebu province and approximately 68 kilometers form Cebu city. It is one of the oldest town in the country evident by its colonial structures, old churches and houses dated way back the 15th and 16th century. In fact they just celebrated their 400 years of township. Argao is famous for their "torta" a local pastry, 'Balay sa Agta", and their free wifi access in town center. Bugasok falls and Riverstone Castle Resort are also fast-becoming tourist destination among locals.

Tourist and visitors can take advantage of lodging houses, beach resorts and hostels in Argao for as low as P450 a night. Argao is very accessible by Bus (southbus terminal) from Cebu City for only P80. From poblacion argao you can take a tricycle going to the nearest beach resorts which normally charges P7-10.

If you have question pls feel free to post it on the comment section.

Thanks and enjoy!

The Old-Fashioned Colon Street

You've been to Cebu if you already crossed the oldest street in the Philippines, and yes I am talking about Colon. It was built by Spaniards during the 16th century and was named after Christopher Columbus whose name in Spanish is Cristobal Colon. Colon failed to preserved its business district reputation but successfully restored it's historical and glorious past. Feel the nostalgia and take a glimpse of its history through old buildings  and structures. Colon is at the heart of downtown area and is very accessible by local transportation.
